Ranelagh is situated South of Dublin city centre and the Grand Canal, between Rathmines to the West and Donnybrook to the East. Clonskeagh and Milltown lie further South, along the Dodder River, via the Sandford Road. It is served by the Luas Green Line, stopping at Ranelagh and Beechwood, and by the Dublin Bus routes 11, 11A, 18, 44, 44N, 48A and 48N. It is within walking distance of the Dart line at Lansdowne Road and Grand Canal Dock.
